ABOUT

The San Antonio Figure Skating Club is dedicated to the promotion of figure skating and supports many activities at the Ice & Golf Center at Northwoods to further this goal.  The San Antonio Figure Skating Club is a volunteer managed organization and has been a member of U.S. Figure Skating since 1993.  As your local figure skating partner and your link to USFS we welcome your participation and look forward to providing you and your family a wonderful experience.

MEMBERSHIP

The membership year for the San Antonio Figure Skating Club is July 1 - June 30. Membership information is available on the Membership page. The Skating Club hosts many special events throughout the year, including our annual competition Alamo Skate, numerous social and philanthropic events, U.S. Figure Skating testing sessions, various club gatherings and our end of year banquet awards ceremony.

COACHES

Our coaching staff caters to all levels of skaters, from beginner to competitive; individual freestyle, moves in the field, choreography and dance.  Our coaches are all members of U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for figure skaters.  All of our coaches have achieved designations in their respective disciplines, and are required to adhere to standards set by the Board of Directors, including meeting U.S. Figure Skating’s coach compliance requirements and SkateSafe Compliance.

CLUB ADMINISTRATION

The San Antonio Figure Skating Club is a Texas nonprofit organization (tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code) incorporated in 1999.  The Club is managed by the Board of Directors who are members of the club. Our current Board of Directors are listed on the Board of Directors page. 

 

HOME ICE

Our home rink is the Ice and Golf Center at Northwoods. This is a multi-use facility with one sheet of ice, indoor soccer and mini-golf. The Ice and Golf Center at Northwoods is located at 17530 Henderson Pass, San Antonio, TX 78232. The telephone number for the ice arena is (210) 490-9550.​​

LEARN TO SKATE

The Ice Center at Northwoods offers Learn to Skate classes on Wednesdays and Saturday for beginning all levels, including adult classes and Learn to Skate Hockey.  Please contact Betty Standifer, Skating Director for more information at 210-490-9550.
