SAFSC Guest Coach Policy
A Guest Coach is any coach who is not a Full or Associate Member of the San Antonio Figure Skating Club (“SAFSC”).
Before coaching on SAFSC Club Ice, a Guest Coach must complete and sign the SAFSC Guest Coach Agreement and satisfy all requirements of this policy.
A Guest Coach may coach on SAFSC Club Ice for ONE continuous period of up to 30 consecutive calendar days during each skating year (July 1 – June 30). The Guest Coach Period begins on the calendar date of the Guest Coach’s first coaching session on SAFSC Club Ice and runs consecutively for 30 calendar days, with each calendar day counting toward the period regardless of whether the Guest Coach coaches that day.
Guest Coach status does not confer SAFSC membership or authorize a Guest Coach to bring or provide instruction to skaters who are otherwise ineligible to participate in the applicable SAFSC Club Ice session.
Upon completion of the Guest Coach Period, continued coaching on SAFSC Club Ice may be accommodated through Full or Associate Membership in SAFSC.
This policy does not pertain to coaches coming in for special events such as test sessions, competitions, exhibitions, or any other type of event of this nature.
Guest Coach Requirements
1. Guest coach must appear on U.S. Figure Skating Coach Compliance database AND must have current and complete coach compliance status with U.S. Figure Skating, with no outstanding compliance requirements.
2. Guest coach must provide copies of current USFSA membership card and liability insurance which will be kept on file by SAFSC for the current skating season.
3. Guest coach must adhere to all SAFSC ice policies and procedures (current SAFSC ice rules can be found at https://www.safsc.org/ice).
4. Guest coach must check in with the SAFSC ice monitor.
5. SAFSC reserves the right to remove guest coach from club ice and suspend guest coach privileges for failure to comply with any SAFSC policies and procedures.
6. The Guest Coach must sign the SAFSC Guest Coach Agreement before coaching on SAFSC Club Ice.
